System seems to work normal however frost developes on the suction fitting back

  Symptom
Frost forms on the suction fitting at the compressor, compressor may slip belt or temporarily lock up.
Cause
This is caused by refrigerant pooling or flooding that still has the potential to cool right at the compressor inlet. This is not a good thing due to the risk of slugging the compressor. The cause is most likely due to a expansion valve not functioning properly or the system is very overcharged.
Solution
Remove excess refrigerant, clean the mating sufaces between the expansion valve bulb and evaporator inlet tube or replace the expansion valve.
